Last Fall, I found a big green caterpillar, and I took it home with me and put it in a box with some leaves, and it made a cocoon. I thought I had identified the species, and was excited for it to hatch. Well, last night, I finally figured out why the cats had been so interested in the shelf the box was on all day. They could hear it moving around in there. So I cracked it open ever-so-carefully, and freaked out when a head and antenae popped out at me. I dropped the box, and then worried that I'd killed it. So I opened the box again, and out flies this... thing... that looked not so much like the moth I was expecting, but rather like a wasp. It was reddish and had a long abdomen and thin little wings. I tried to catch it, but all I could think was that it was some horrible species of killer wasp that had laid eggs in the caterpillar and was now out to get me. Anyway... long story short... I didn't catch it, and I don't know where it is. Or what it is. Kinda freaked out about that.
In other, happier news, I am going to become full-time at Borders soon. I think I might be exclusively in the cafe, but I think that's okay. They're remodeling and switching from Border's Best Cafe to Seattle's Best Coffee. Which actually kinda sucks because now we have to wear uniforms. We can't wear jeans, and the specifications for being "in uniform" are absolutely ridiculous. For example, our shoes must match our belt. And out socks must match our pants. Seriously. Some gay man wrote these rules. Ugh. But on the bright side, I will get benefits. One of which includes receiving a $30 gift card every month. I know! Borders rocks.
