Don't panic!
Poor teachers not at school today because they are evacuating their homes! Poor students who had their midterms canceled because of stress and under-attendance. Poor me, who had my midterm retake all scheduled and confirmed, present and accounted for, an hour before the test, only to have my proctor leave to go evacuate her home in Chula Vista. Bummer, dude!
I'm not sure that I could get out of the county if I wanted to, unless I flee south of the border, and even that route may close. East on the 8 is the next best option. I'm fine until the fire starts to cross/threaten the Marine base in Miramar. At that point I'm going to load up kitten and snakes and head to Grandma's or Point Loma. I still doubt that I am much threatened but better safe than sorry. Of course those places might not be all that safe either, what with the winds pushing the fire east of Chula Vista west towards IB. The safest would be to get out of SD all together, but let's not go there.
To anyone who needs it!!! I will take in and baby-sit animals. Cats, small dogs and caged creatures!*
