OMG, seriously, this is overdue. Way overdue. Like I thought I had updated more frequently than I had. This probably explains why
emesque asked on my progress. I will likely post it in segments it is so overdue.
On another note - recommend me! I love discovering new writers. Among books I want to get to this summer are the Southern Vampire books, the Kittie Norville books and some Patricia McKillip recommended to me by
emesque,
ysabet and
swordmage respectively.
10) Weather Wardens: Windfall by Rachel Caine, finished 1/23
Quite fond of the series, it continues to keep my interest. I love the way her plots overlap books, makes you need to keep reading the series.
11)The Signs of the Zodiac: The Touch of Twilight by Vicki Pettersson, finished 1/24
If you like those dark super hero stories with kick ass chicks, you just need to read this series, period.
12)Torchwood: The Twilight Streets by Gary Russell, finished 1/25
The Torchwood books in my opinion are some of the best done tie-in around.
13)The Quickening: Bridge of Souls by Fiona Mcintosh, finished 1/29
The series was amusing for a one time read but I felt like the last book was kinda ugh. One of the side plots seemed to take up way too much time and have no point until the very end and even then, not worth it.
14)Cal Leandros: Moonshine by Rob Thurman, finished 2/1
An interesting series, I really do like the protagonist. Good choice for the urban fantasy fans.
15)The Lies of Lock Lamora by Scott Lynch, finished 2/4
If you like swashbuckling and plucky thieves - read it, read it, read it.
16)The Pirate's Pocketbook by Stuart Robertson, finished 2/6
Interesting little general knowledge book. I enjoyed.
17)Mercy Thompson: Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs, finished 2/7
I love how tough Mercy is as a character and yet how much she still grows at the same time and remains sympathetic. Highly recommended.
18)The Alchemist's Daughter by Katharine McMahon, finished 2/9
Picked it up in England, interesting historical fiction.
19)Nightside: Something from the Nightside by Simon R. Green, finished 2/10
Like the English answer to Harry Dresden, little less whimsical in sense of humor but a little darker and more twisted.
20)The Looking Glass Wars: Seeing Redd by Frank Beddor, finished 2/13
Alice in Wonderland meets Victorian Steampunk, need I say more?
21) Corsair by Tim Severin, finished in March
Series I found about in England, not as swashbuckling as some but hits a different area of the world which I found interesting.
22) The Demigod Files by Rick Riordan, finished 4/3
Companion to the Percy Jackson books which are completely and utterly awesome.
23)Inkspell by Cornelia Funke, finished 4/12
Enjoyable but I didn't seem to get into it as much as the first book for some reason. It was however a stressful time at school.
24)The Dresden Files: Turncoat by Jim Butcher, finished 4/27
Lots of craziness going on, but I still love these books. Not as many antics as I like but some minor character I adore showed up. Demand more Carlos.
25)The Hollows: Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison, finished 4/29
Quirky and fin and I can't figure out why I didn't grab them on my own but luckily
demonicchaos bought me every paperback in the series for Christmas.
