Jump and SPLAT!

OH GOD I HURT! From my head down to my toes there isn't a muscle in my body that isn't in pain today, or wasn't yesterday. However, I am at work no matter how much I wanted to stay at home this morning!!! So why do I hurt? Simple Spray Paint Free Style Terrain! After years of avoiding the half pipe, table tops, and spines, I was actually told to go and jump them while in training this weekend.

Timberline has a program called club ride, where I get to be a coach for the day and get a group of 9 to 18 year olds to play with. So its more of a group lesson, but not so much a lesson as a time to create a team and really get them to do some fun stuff, and build skills at a higher level. So this entails banging gates (SWEET...I GET TO RACE AGAIN) and jumps. Well the good ole racing days left me a bit stiff in the knees and in general not the most happy to go up and jump stuff. However I will NEVER say NEVER to something new, at least the first time. So I did little jumps and got used to some nice air. Then I figured lets go and do some table tops, and I cleared a good size one. The landing was nothing pretty, but I landed. It was such a rush, that I had to do it again after the end of the day. I conveniently forgot that I was a bit more than tired, since we were racing around, jumping around, and generally being crazy all day! So off I go, get a bit scared of the speed, slow down, and JUMP!

UUUUUUAHHHHHHhhhhhh AIR.....UGH LAND......SPLAT! (attempted back scratcher == lost skies)

I landed on my left side, with my head smacking the ground pretty well. I really think something/someone was putting ideas in my head the night before when I went to buy a helmet!!! Luckily said helmet was on the head and I had just got up after seeing stars and black spots for a bit, put my skies back on and went on to the next jump! I really haven't been that stupid, or had that much fun, in a long time. But to be honest I am paying for it in spades! Yesterday I couldn't even turn my head to the right. Today is a bit better, but my right thigh is throbbing. Not the mention my hip flexer on the right! Unfortunately I have NO bruises to show off. What was the point of splating all over the place is I have nothing to show for it. I'll work on this next week!

I have one question for everyone however - If you were to buy a fuel efficient SNOW car what would it be?

Your choices are as follows:
1) Honda CR-V (a car I am currently very attracted to!!!)
2) VW Golf TDI (a bit too small - kinda like my Tercel of the moment which is a bit scary on the mountain)
3) Subaru Outback (best snow car ever, not good of fuel)

Let me know what you think.
