The old town’s principal street, Fangbang Road, branded Shanghai Old Street in the 1990s and very popular with the tourists, is going down, old housing together with the new. A friend pointed out this photo set (let’s excuse the cat graffiti):

This was once a "venerable old street performance stage", although I doubt it is very old.

This was originally an oil store, at 82 Middle Fangbang Road.
This was imitation Phoenix Pavilion (丹凤楼), on the corner of Danfeng Road - not old.
This is at the corner of Sipailou 四牌楼, whose gate is seen on the left. All that famous street life has long been gone.
