When I received a notice that my Rot-chan Dal doll was shipped to me on February 14 two years ago, that decided it-I would name her Valentine. While I waited for the package to arrive, ideas for a photo shoot based on the day she was named after started popping into my mind. It took me a year to finally get around to taking the photos. (^^;) While at the task I had some problems getting the photos the way I wanted them. I deleted a lot and did many retakes, and even then I didn't get the lighting right. I fixed up the colors as best as I could, though they might still look a little weird. In the end, the final product was a little different from what I first conceived, but the basic idea was still there. Somewhere along the way, the song "Loving You" by Paolo Nutini got mixed up into my concept, so if you feel like it, have a listen to a live version while looking at the photos by playing the streaming video below. The accompanying words are lyrics from the song, which is one of my favorites of his. :) I love the sound of his voice when he sings the words "flawless soul." ♥ Watching the video I realized how much I like him, or rather his music. He's pretty cute, though. ;)
Anyway, on to the photos.

Pack up loneliness,
and
hello, tenderness.
I've
been waiting for your call
for so long...
...and it must have been hard
just to follow your soul...
...to stick to the road
that your heart wants you to go....
I was so stranded,
I was lost and abandoned...
...and when I needed another home
and you flew in my arms.
You just flew right into my arms.
When you're loving me,
I'm loving you.
I love the prowess in all the things that you do.
It's your flawless soul....
When you're loving me,
I'm loving you.
That's when we've got it going on.
Finally, here's a bonus photo of some heart-shaped Rice Krispies Treats that I made with the thought of using in some of the photos but eventually decided against:
