Lost Kubricks & BambooZoo

Lost is one of the few TV shows that I make it a point to watch whenever there is a new episode, and when I saw the upcoming Kubrick versions of some of the Lost characters, I thought they were pretty cool, though a tad on the pricey side. After some checking around of price tags, I eventually gave in and pre-ordered a case of blind boxes. I guess that shows a certain level of my "geekiness" when it comes to the series, though I don't get into all the mythology and whatnot.

Top (L to R): John, Jack, Kate, James ("Sawyer").
Bottom (L to R): Sayid, Charlie, Hugo ("Hurley").

The photo above shows the characters that will be in the Kubrick series that I pre-ordered. Medicom is also making a set with Jack and a Be@rbrick with the Lost logo, and there is a Bearbrick.com exclusive set consisting of a Be@rbrick 100% and Be@rbrick 400% with the Dharma logo. The set with the 7 different characters is enough for me. My favorites in it are Hurley and Charlie. I wonder if there are going to be any chases. I hope so. I want a Ben and a Desmond! I think a Daniel Faraday would be nice, too, but I doubt Medicom would make one, at least for now because he is a new character.

Moving along to other toy purchases, the other day I stopped by the new Kidrobot store in NYC. I went there sort of with the intent to pick up one of the Adult Swim toys or Yummy Breakfast keychains, but I forwent the latter and ended up getting a couple of the BambooZoo minis by Peskimo. The 2 I pulled were on the common side of the rarity spectrum, but I was happy with what I got. I think all the characters in the series are pretty cute in their own way. Here is what I got:

Bamboobi, one of the most common ones in the series, the odds being 3/25.

The back view of Bamboobi. I especially like the bird since I'm fond of chicks and little birds. :) Earlier in the day, before I stopped by Kidrobot, I enjoyed some ice cream in the park. While I was sitting on a bench eating my frozen custard, I noticed a little bird standing by my foot, and it seemed to be looking at me. After a while, it actually went up on the bench to stand beside me and continued to look in my direction. =D It was so cute! (^__^) Perhaps it wanted a bit of my ice cream? It seemed to be a young bird because its size was smaller than some of the others, so maybe it didn't know the ways of the world yet, or maybe I just had that non-threatening I-like-birdies vibe, LOL. I wanted to take a photo of it, but I thought I would scare it away if I tried to pull my camera out. Eventually it flew away, but I would have liked it if it had come back. A few moments later, a woman came storming up to sit beside me, causing all the nearby birds to take flight. :( Anyway, when I think about that little bird, it makes me happy. :D I digress.

The other BambooZoo mini I pulled was Onsen (2/25):

Onsen is the word for "hot springs" in Japanese, and he carries a little towel with the word "Mine" emblazoned on it:

His head reminds me of one of those hot dogs or cocktail wieners made to look like an octopus. :)

Speaking of food, since I was on Prince Street, and it was only a little way off from Kidrobot, I decided to finally check out Café Habana. Because I wrote about it in an earlier post, here is a photo:

Look familiar to you dorama-watching folks? ;)

Because I was in somewhat of a time crunch, I decided not to wait for a table and instead opted to order some food from the Habana to Go takeout around the corner. Along with a chicken with mole sauce torta, I had that grilled corn Mexican style that I mentioned before:

Grilled corn is the best! :D It was really sweet, and the lime juice, chili powder, and cotija cheese made it really yummy and delicious! :D I want to eat some again soon.
