☠ Weather Update: "Super" typhoon Pepeng (int code: Parma) has finally moved out of the country. Apparently, it stalled up in the north for quite a while, battering much of the area.
On the other hand, "Super" typhoon Quedan (int code: Melor) is expected to arrive tonight, our 18th weather disturbance of 2009. I don't bother with stats, so I'm not sure whether it's supposed to be stronger than Pepeng. At least the disaster theory of Pepeng and Quedan merging is out. That'd just be...awful.
Annnddd a 6.5 earthquake in the southern part of the country. Do I sound like a weather person yet? /sighh. Wth mother nature.
☠ School started again today. Naturally, since a huge chunk of us live in or near the affected areas, it was mostly story-telling day. You guys can't believe how many times I wanted to cry. xD;
Ondoy gave everyone a heck of a lot of trouble. Many lost cars, houses, even family or friends. But tragedies tend to reveal character. And volunteer work, prayer, all gave me the chance to see Filipino character shine through.
I can't even begin to describe how much it moved me, seeing, feeling all that love. Towards each other, towards complete strangers, towards countrymen. I can still feel it, actually.
Never have I been so proud to be a Filipino until now.
