[FILL] Smile Smile Smile [Crossover] Sleipnir is Pinkie Pie. TW: torture, abuse. (2/8) anonymous August 25 2012, 00:33:04 UTC
The rest of items twelve through thirty-eight were mostly things their friends had noticed, specific examples of Pinkie Pie acting unusually or seeming particularly miserable. Fluttershy had even said she’d seen Pinkie crying (item fifteen). A lot of them involved Pinkie vanishing suddenly, or skipping out on get-togethers and the chance to spend time with her friends. The Cakes had told her she’d been saying she was too busy to babysit or to bake for the shop (items thirty-three and thirty-four), and that wasn’t like Pinkie Pie at all.

Something was really, really wrong, and Twilight was going to find out what it was. Pinkie didn’t leave the path all the way home, walking straight to Sugarcube Corner. Twilight followed her inside just in time to hear her say hello to Mrs Cake, sounding tired and worried instead of her usual cheerful self (was that serious enough to become item forty?) before heading upstairs with her basket.

‘Okay, dear,’ Mrs Cake said, and turned around to see Twilight standing in the store. She opened her mouth to say something, but Twilight held a hoof to her mouth for silence, standing at the bottom of the stairs and watching until she saw Pinkie disappeared into her room. ‘I take it you’re here because of Pinkie Pie?’ Mrs. Cake asked, corners of her eyes crinkling in concern.

‘I followed her all the way from Zecora’s hut and I didn’t find out anything!’

‘Maybe you should leave her be, dear? I’m sure she’ll tell us when she can…’

‘Maybe,’ Twilight said, pacing across the floor of the shop. ‘I don’t understand why she can’t tell us now! I’m going to talk to her,’ she decided, stopping by the counter. ‘Even if she can’t tell us what’s wrong, she’s my friend. I can’t just leave her alone.’ She headed for the stairs, determined to do something. Even if she couldn’t get Pinkie to talk, she could persuade her to spend an afternoon doing something fun to cheer her up. She just didn’t want to see Pinkie be sad any more. ‘Pinkie?’ she called, knocking on her door. ‘Pinkie? It’s Twilight. Can I come in?’ When Pinkie didn’t answer, Twilight tried the door. It was open, so after a moment’s indecision, she went in.

Pinkie wasn’t there. ‘But… but I saw her come in here!’ Twilight said, turning round in a circle, checking under the bed and in the wardrobe in case Pinkie was hiding. ‘Where did she go?’
