I suck at updating this thing. I don't think I've updated in over 3 months. Apologies :(.

Not too much is new.
I went back to RI for URI Gaming Convention. It was pretty good, though a bit of a mixed bag. Had to deal with a couple relatively minor annoyances, but in general I had a lot of fun. I ran DoF twice. One time was mediocre at best, one time went really well. DoF2 saw a dearth of players but I pulled it off at the end.

One thing that was great: I got to play in my friend Josh's Paranoia one-shot. I think I was laughing the entirety of the time, deep belly laughter.
Playing in Jennine's vampire game was cool too, particularly since I got to be in a sequel using the same character I did before.

My birthday was earlier this month. Jessica surprised me with a very nice gift: She booked an hour-long massage for me at a health spa. Soooooooooooooo nice. I loved it! If I could just get Jess to work on me more. I also need to work more on her.

I find myself playing a lot of old games lately. Currently on 'Steamband,' a variant of Angband. This is known as the 'roguelike' genre: A dungeon crawler made up of ASCII graphics. They're a lot of fun, though usually extremely frustrating. ("The squirrel bites you. You die.")

I'm thinking of posting various opinion-related posts at some point. I have a lot to say about a variety of topics, including: Intellivision, Final Fantasy VI, the economy, the bailout, Star Trek, and the movie '12 Angry Men.' Quite a mix.

I've been resolving to lose weight and fat. It's working surprisingly well. Since New Year's, I've lost about 8.5 pounds or so. My eventual medium-term goal is to drop 20 total and see where to go after that. Ideally, I'd be a 'onesie' (below 200 pounds), but I'm not sure if that's realistic given my general build and frame.

Jess and I are doing well, yay. We've been together a bit under a year and four months. Every so often we find ourselves bored and looking for something to do. It's mostly cabin fever--once the weather gets nicer, we can go outside. I wish I had more friends local to where I am so there'd be more people to hang out with. Meh, ah well.

Gaming is also quite fun. I'm running a game of Ars Magica. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself; I'm hoping my friends are too. The group consists of Brian, one of my best friends, his wife ("Leonia" on lj, of URI GC infamy), and Jess. It's a lot of fun.

Maybe if I don't promise to update more frequently, I'll shock myself by actually doing it. Worth a try.
