Couldn't hold it, puked everything out  :-D

Imagine again, just as you are waking up from all this, hearing your dad say he plans to 'buy' a run down cinema  hall . For me it was real. He is behaving like a raging teenager!! :-/

Watched Eastern Promises... interesting plot, quite a well made movie. The only drawback was that they made certain dialogues very apparent, loud and slow when they should have left it quiet and subtle, the way it was in The illusionist or The silence of the lambs. Guess the director wanted his viewers to have a very clear picture, but then that is not how one makes movies, sometime fewer words work better! I have been a fan of Viggo Mortensen since a while and feel he has been wasted in some of his movies, the directors need some punching in the face... They spend so much time, money and other resources ruining a film with such fine actors, a film that could have been a classic!! Pigs. I think the chemistry between him and Vincent Cassel was way more endearing [though faked by Mr.Viggo's character] than that with Naomi  Watts' [not faked].  The only film I have seen of her that I thought she stood out in was Mulholland Drive, but din't like the movie much for its needless graphic sexual content [I have nothing against it as long as it is relevant to the plot, but dont when they border pornographic material in the name of art and abstract film making] ... She and Nicole Kidman are more like porcelain dolls than actors, it is, I guess, worth a few people's money seeing such pretty faces on screen from time to time.

A drastic change of topic - in one of the first few days here we [my roomie and I] got ambushed by a couple of afro-american teenagers as we lost our way and were stranded 10 miles away from our destination [had no phones then] and ended up doing the hike completely soaked in some pink fruit-punch,  turned out the senior we made plans of our housing with was an anaconda, thus, ditched her and became the subject of her wrath and eventually ended up in a roach, rat, bug and what not infested kitchen of a few graduate students for two weeks. Despite the petty discomfort, the girls were a great support and now that Ioana and I are back on our feet we dared to invite all 10 and cook for them on Thanks-giving. The first things we made was a Romanian Cake and videoed it on our macs .
Let me warn you before going ahead, they are many, it is going to need some bit of patience and may not be ear-friendly or interesting [watch them (if you do) in 'high quality mode']:

Clean spoon because, the last time we test-baked we had licked the chocolate of the spoon while doing this and so practically the cake had our spit all over lol.
