Gnosis is not a spiritual process. In fact we decry any notion of “spirituality” as being a supernatural concept, which has no place in the psychological process of gnosis. Gnosis is self-actualization. Spirituality is a religious concept, such as good, evil and sin, and therefore has no meaning for the self-actualized man or woman.

We prefer the term non-theist to the more frequently used atheist or agnostic. While the assignation of non-theist may mean atheist too many and indeed many atheists refer to themselves as non-theists - we prefer to describe our Gnostic spirituality as non-theistic or as non-theism.

I am just starting this book. I picked it up yesterday at the Unitarian Universalist congregation that I attend with Sidran here in Denver. One of the things that has always disturbed me about the credulousness of religious people is their belief that you must believe in God to have an inner life of any worth, or to have an inner life at all.
