Creation always involves violence. Conception of life or an artifact may start in a moment of quiet tenderness, but gestational changes wreak havoc. Whether you enter the world via the birth canal or are surgically removed by cesarean life begins in the throes of pain. There is always blood, sweat and tears. Stars are born and they die in massive explosions that tear up the darkness. There seems to be no way to separate agony from the journey from darkness to light and back to the darkness.
