Lessons
Sometimes the hardest lessons I've learned end up being the most obvious. It's taken nearly half a century to figure out that my beliefs are really nothing more than the opinions I'm most attached to. These are the ideas that are so entwined with my sense of identity and reality that I fear examining them. If someone dares a differing opinion it feels like murder.
