Summary: Ficcy Friday request from shopgirl909 with the prompt of a fic the morning after Jeff/Annie's first night together. Annie has to leave early and tries to wake Jeff to let him know. Jeff, tired by sex, does not wake and also does not find the note she left.

Annie wakes to Jeff's hand sliding up her leg. His touch is gentle and slow, almost lazy. She shudders, because even half-asleep, his touch still sets her aflame with desire. The hand stops above her knee and the slips between her legs.

She gasps, his hand is unbelievably warm, and waits.

And waits.

Jeff gives a sleepy snort and curls himself around her, but judging by his breathing and the fact his hand isn't moving, he's still asleep.

"Jeff?" she asks, turning her head slightly. She sees one side of his head, half buried in the pillow the rest in her hair with his eyes shut.

"Jeff are you awake?"

His hand twitches, and his thumb strokes at her skin. He makes a disgruntled sound and shifts closer.

Oh.

Oh...Okay, one part of him is in fact awake.

Annie glances at her bedside table, to the clock on it and figures if she can wake him, they may have time for another round before she has to leave for work.

She grins to herself and thinks, if she could she would stay in bed with Jeff all day long. While they had been flirting, kissing and more than kissing for a few weeks now, last night had been the first time it had escalated to sex. Wonderful, hot, no-crying-might-be-gay sex.

Yay.

"Jeffffffffff," she tries again in a tone that she hopes is seductive. "Wake up."

She tries to turn, but he's got her pinned with his weight and grip. From her position she can't do much, her hands can't reach him (or at least not without being really awkwardly). The urge to be naughty lessens, and the want to just get free rises. As much as she loves Jeff, and finds him attractive, she doesn't like that he's this close without her being able to do anything. His weight and warmth, while lovely when she's in the throes of passion or falling asleep, isn't so when she feels like she's sweating to death and suddenly has to use the bathroom.

"Wake up Jeff." She pushes back a bit, trying to dislodge him. After a bit he lessens his grip enough to let her sit up and force him to roll back onto his side of the bed. He grunts, snores and then sprawls across the bed like a starfish on a rock.

She finds it sort of adorable until he shifts and nearly knocks her out of her own bed.

The floor is ice cold compared to her bed, so she wastes no time skipping away to the bathroom, in hopes that when she's finished with her shower he'll be more awake.

He isn't.

Her shower is over, she's eaten a small breakfast, brushed her teeth, blown dry her hair, put on make up, and checked over all her homework.

She puts on her knickers and bra, nearly hesitantly in hopes maybe he'll wake up but then hurries up and because it's clear he won't. She pulls up her skirt and zips it while eying him.

He's on his stomach, head turned with hair more messy than she's ever seen it completely and totally out. Not for the lack of her trying. She's set alarms, she turned music up and let her phone go off.

"Are all men like this?" she asks the lump on her bed, as she crawls shirtless onto it. With no where else to go, she finds herself straddling him, perched on his backside poking at his shoulders.

He makes a sound, scoots a bit to dislodge her from her place but that's it. Nothing more than the signs of a restless sleeper.

"Jeff I have to leave soon." she tells him. She leans forward, "Wake up now and I can at least give you a kiss before I have to-"
Jeff unexpectedly flips himself over and sends her flying.

"Okay. Fine." She's a little more than annoyed that he's this dead to the world, but there's nothing else she can do and she has to leave. She gets off the bed, slips on her shirt and grabs her bag. It's not that big of a deal, or at least that's what she tells herself. She doesn't need to have breakfast together or have him kiss her goodbye. She's an adult, and will acknowledge that it's too early, and he's tired. Plus she'll see him at Greendale in a few short hours anyways.

She leaves a small post-it-note on the clock next to the bed explaining where she's gone, and leaves with locking the door behind her a few seconds later.

Jeff wakes up, stretches and hears parts of his body crack that probably shouldn't.

He sits up, rolls his shoulders a bit and looks around. He's more than a little surprised to find himself alone in the bed. He glances around the apartment, and when he hears nothing, realizes he's completely alone.

Annie left?

What the hell.

Okay, no wait, don't panic. She's probably left a note.

He gets up, slips on his jeans and starts looking around. On the pillows, on the table and the fridge. Nothing. He gets more desperate and starts looking on the floor, the bathroom mirror and inside the fridge. Nothing.

He checks his phone. No calls, no texts and hours before they have to be at Greendale.

Jeff sits on her couch and tries to stay calm. He tries and thinks of what could have happened, when last night went so well. Did he do or say something that made her angry? Did he punch her in his sleep or something? His mind goes into overdrive until he's so confused, sadden and angry that he can't stand it any more.
He calls her.

He doesn't even get her voice mail, her phone is turned off.

The rest of the morning passes by slowly, and the closer it gets to going to see the group, the more irrationally angry he gets.

He's tried calling Annie two more times before finally leaving her house. He goes home to shower, and get a change of clothing, the whole time of which his phone is all but attached to him. He checks all his accounts, twitter, Facebook hell even his old Myspace is checked for anything, a note, a comment or I hate you forever lets not go out e-mail.'

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Fine, he thinks bitterly, she wants to play Old School Winger style? Let her, he's the original Winger and he won't give in that easily. He can ignore women he's slept with better than Charlie Sheen ignores reality.

Then in the hallway to his next class, he sees her. She's talking to a teacher, handing him a folder before turning and spotting him.

Crap. He was suppose to be ignoring her, not staring like a fat guy does at a cake store.

"Hey Jeff." she says so casually he almost thinks he didn't hear it all.

"Hey." He responds, in a neutral tone devoid of anything. Or at least he hopes it does. He hopes his voice doesn't turn against him like his body is starting to.

She smiles and it nearly breaks him. He wants to do so many things at once, hug her, kiss her, feel her body pressed against his own.

"Okay. See ya." she turns right back around and leaves.

See ya?

He's not even worthy of a see you later?

Jeff stares as she walks away, wondering when the hell he stepped into a alternate reality.

Eventually he arrives to the study room, everyone is there, minding their own business. Shirley is helping Pierce with homework, Troy and Abed are drawing out designs as Britta comments on it while knitting a sweater for one of her many cats.

Annie has her headphones in, and is writing in her notebook.

It irritates him more than it should that she doesn't even look up.

The longer she seemingly ignores him, the angrier he gets.

"Annie." He whispers across the table, as to not draw too much attention to the others. They of course, know that he and Annie are more together than not, know and have seen the flirting but don't know how far it's gone. "Annie." He pokes her with a pen.

She jumps, and removes her headphones, "What?"

He stares at her.

He's completely forgot what he was going to say. They stare at each other, his is sure to be a frightened one compared to her confused eyes looking him over like he might be sick or insane.

He may or may not be bordering on becoming the latter of the two.

"Jeff? Are you okay?"

Jeff loses it at both at her overly concerned tone and question.

"Okay?" He's gone from zero to sixty on the insane meter in a second, "How the hell can I be okay when you've been ignoring me since this morning?"

Annie blinks, "What are you talk-"

He cuts her off with a bitter laugh,"Oh fine. Completely ignore the whole see ya or the no calls or messages. Fine, whatever, go ahead and forget we even slept together. Forget that I totally made you cu-"

Annie up to that moment had been silent with shock finally reacts by hissing at him.

"Jeffrey!

-but it's too late. The study group have all stopped to stare at them.

"What? Angry that it's going to be harder to ignore now that the others know."

She rolls her eyes, "Jeff what is the matter with you? What are you talking about? I didn't ignore you at all. Didn't you read the note I left you? On my clock?"

Jeff just gapes at her, he hadn't. Crap.

Annie continues, "-I had to go in for the early shift and my boss hates when we leave our phones on so I turned it off. I said see ya, because I was in hurry and didn't know you were going to act like a such a girl if I didn't say later." she ends, she isn't embarrassed by the fact he outed them to the whole group in a way but she is angry that he was such a jerk about it.

"Haha she called you a girl." Pierce points and laughs at him from across the table.

Jeff wastes no time in pulling Annie out of her chair and hauling her to the empty hallway, closing the study room doors behind me. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm such a blind idiot." He instantly chants in her direction. "I didn't see the note and I thought something happened or you hated the sex and were ignoring me."

"Jeff."

"-and then you said that stuff in the hallway and ignored me when I came in-"

"Jeff."

"-I just totally lost it, and I admit I was stupid to assume all that-"
Annie arches up onto her tiptoes and pulls his face closer to her level so she can kiss him deeply.

He gives in and responds just as deep, "You're not mad?" he mumbles around her lips.

"Shut up and kiss me until you stop being so insecure." she snaps.

He grins, and is so pleased that he doesn't even care that she totally called him on his real issue.

There are much better things he has to concentrate on the moment than thinking about that.

_________________________The End______________________________

A/N: Also, just to clarify about the punching, that I don't think Jeff would ever hurt Annie, even his sleep, it was just his mind on ramble mode. That and I only assume other people sometimes do it in their sleep. Apparently I've been known to do that to my partners in the past. Not on purpose...or at least I don't think so.
