“C’mon darl’n, we always said we wouldn’t be Jacob and Edward,” Jasper said with a grin as he tugged on Seth’s hand. He had been trying to get his little wolf to agree to coming on a hunting trip with him since Luka had turned five months old. Seth wasn’t sleeping enough and that worried Jasper. Luka had just turned seven months old and he still was no closer to getting Seth to come with him.
“Jazz, you know how upset he gets when you leave for a few days. Would you want to put someone through what he’ll be like if we both leave?” Seth questioned.
“If it means I get you to myself for a couple of days then yes,” Jasper replied.
Seth gave him an amused look. “I’m not that bad.” He tickled Luka’s foot, grinning at the squeal he got in return.
“You’re getting pretty close. C’mon, just the weekend, two days, we’ll even leave late and come back early.”
Seth sighed. “And who do you have in mind to babysit?”
Jasper settled down next to him and tickled Luka’s other foot. “Someone Luka loves.”
“Lillana, Leah, Esme, Jacob, and Taylor.”
“Someone he will stop crying for.”
“Lillana, Esme, and Jacob.”
“Someone we trust above all others.” Seth and Jasper shared a look before saying at the same time, “Esme.”
“Where will we go?” Seth questioned as he pulled out his cell phone to text Esme. He laid his head on Jasper’s shoulder, the question and action had Jasper grinning. Seth was finally agreeing to go with him!
“How far do you want to go? We need to move soon, maybe we should go to an area we’re thinking about moving and check it out.”
“That’s a good idea but… I don’t want to be further than six hours away…in case anything happens.”
Jasper pressed a kiss to Seth’s temple. “Nothing will happen. Luka loves Esme, he’ll barely even know we’re gone. And, if he does we can Skype with him.”
Seth sat up with a smile. “Good idea, okay, ten hour limit.” His phone lit up with Esme’s reply to his text. He opened it and laughed.
“What does it say?” Jasper asked.
“About time!” Seth read. “I guess that’s a yes.” Jasper laughed.
