Fandom: Twilight
Pairing: Jasper/Seth (mpreg)
Prompt: Selfish
Follow-up of: Waiting to Meet You
It had been three days since Seth had woken after Luka’s birth. Carlisle had removed the IVs and feeding tube the day before once he was certain Seth could keep food down on his own. They hadn’t moved home yet, wanting to give Luka a little time before moving him since he was a premie. Seth and Jasper were completely in love with their son, they both counted his fingers and toes numerous times, made faces and talked endlessly, just to see what Luka’s reactions would be. In a way they were both still in shock that they finally had the baby that they had wanted for so long.
Seth looked up from where he had been gently tickling Luka’s tummy as Jasper entered the room with both their lunches. “Leah wants me to inform you that we are being selfish,” he said as he set the tray down on the table next to the bed.
Seth raised an eyebrow. “Selfish? Why?” He picked Luka up and held his hand out for the bottle. Jasper handed the bottle to him and Luka started sucking as soon as the nipple touched his lips.
“Because we haven’t let the family see our little Luka yet,” Jasper answered.
“Well that’s not just us, its Carlisle too.”
“I know but they are getting impatient, not that I can blame them.”
“No, we’ll ask Carlisle if it’s alright to start exposing him when he gets home tonight,” Seth said. Jasper nodded and reached out to stroke Luka’s soft hair.
“You have such a wonderful family Luka,” he murmured. “I hope you always know that.”

It was only a few minutes after Carlisle got home from the hospital that he came to check on his at-home patients. “Good evening,” he greeted with his usual warm smile. “How are we today?”
“Great, I think,” Seth answered. “Luka’s had two bottles today, burped both times, he’s mostly slept but been awake for up to thirty minutes at a time.”
“How many diapers?” Carlisle questioned, writing the information down on a clipboard of notes he was keeping.
Seth thought about that for a moment, counting in his head. “Five so far.”
“And you are feeling alright?”
Seth nodded. “I feel great.”
“Good, this all sounds very good. I’d like you to wait until the end of the week before phasing again.”
“Okay, hey Carlisle?”
“Yes?”
“Some of the family, namely Leah, is getting a little impatient about meeting Luka. Do you think it would be okay if we started introducing him?”
“Hm,” Carlisle hummed thoughtfully. He walked over to the crib and picked his grandson up, cradling him in his arms. “I was keeping him quarantined due to the fact that he is a premie but he has been eating well, sleeping well and overall seems to be in very good health. I think we can start introducing him to the family tomorrow, one or two at a time with a day or two in between would be best. No need to get overwhelmed huh Luka?” Luka blinked open his golden eyes and yawned. Carlisle’s smile widened. “He sure is a smart little fellow, already responding to his name.”
Seth smiled proudly at that. Jasper came in the door, his eyes bright from his hunt. “Everything good?” He questioned looking between them.
Seth nodded. “Carlisle says we can start introducing Luka to the family tomorrow, one or two at a time with a couple of days in between to see how he does.”
“When can we take him home?” Jasper questioned. As much as he loved his parents he was looking forward to settling Luka in at home.
“We’ll see how he does after meeting a couple of family members, if all goes well then I’d say by mid-week,” Carlisle answered. He laid Luka back down in his crib after giving him a light kiss on the forehead. “I’ll be around if you need anything.”
“Thanks Carlisle,” both Jasper and Seth said.
“So who does Luka meet first?” Jasper questioned as he came over to sit beside Seth.
“I think Leah would kill us if it wasn’t her,” Seth chuckled.
Jasper laughed. “I think you’re right.”
A/N: I’m feeling inspired to write about Luka today so expect some drabbles from me. I know, finally, right? Something along these lines… “Teddy”, “Meeting the Family” & “Coming Home” (maybe not in that order, who knows).
