So we are about one month into the married life, and although we're both kinda sick right now, we're loving life and each other. The wedding went off without a snag (as long as you don't count my little episode before the ceremony where I almost refused to take my anxiety medication), and the reception went well even though we had some party crashers. We did get some really great candid photos from the disposable cameras at the tables, and Kara did a great job with the other photos.
The honeymoon was a nice get away. The resort wasn't exactly what we thought it would be, but being in a near third-world country it was very nice. We were able to walk right out onto the beach. While we were in St. Lucia it rained just about everyday for at least an hour. Some days it rained more, once or twice it didn't rain at all. It certainly made landing and taking off in the plane interesting. We were delayed for an hour and a half waiting on a storm to move so we could land, but we had God on our side leaving. I continued to be ill while on the honeymoon and was quite upset that Tyler and I didn't get to partake in more of the restaurant scene. Now that I'm home we're still working with the Dr.s to find out what the problem is.
Since being home we've been working on cleaning and finding homes for all of our gifts. I think we've both decided that we just have a lot of cleaning in general to do. We were able to take some silverware and older cooking pots to goodwill so that our good fortune might also benefit someone else as well. Trapper has been looking after me closely since getting back and many days can be found protecting my lap or laying on my side as we watch tv or work on the computer. He's not too happy being on the new diet that the vet set us up with, but he deals with it well enough. He gets either one of my small hand fulls of food twice a day, or twenty minutes twice a day to eat. I feel better giving him small hand fulls that he can eat throughout the day because I know he will follow Tyler and I around the apartment while we get ready for work and likes to sit with us while we eat our dinner as well. I want him to loose weight, but I certainly don't want to starve him.
Work has been going well so far. Tyler was handed a fist full of problems when we got back and has been battling to fix them all without firing anyone. They've also added a new account that has been stressing the whole office for resources and management. There have been plenty of phone calls on his work phone during "off" hours as well and I've actually gotten a chance to help cook dinner some this week :) The little kids were happy to see me when I came back and there have been a couple of things I've had to work on in the room to put things back where they belong. I've also heard from my friend back at KLC that many of the teachers that were hired after I left are already looking for new jobs, including the teacher that took over my old classroom. My friend has even transferred to another center, and it's all because of who has been put into management. I'm glad I got out when I did. This new company is treating me very well and I have even become an official adult by enrolling in the 401K plan they offer. I've now got my medical insurance as well and that is helping out while we try to figure out exactly what is wrong with my digestive tract. I've had more blood work done, and we are also now sending me to get a barium swallow scan tomorrow. All in all, there are more good days than bad and I thank God for this. When we figure out the problem, or rule everything out, I will feel better.
