Well, I've now had Quinn for four months. It seems like longer, and I can't imagine not having her.
She's part monkey. She goes flying down the hall and into our room to fling herself at the back of Jamie's chair, where she sticks like a kid in a velcro suit. Then it's back down the hall, up and across the couch to leap as high as she can onto the cat tree. Sometimes she doesn't make it. Sometimes we get a big surprise as she flings herself across the apartment to take a flying leap at the dishtowel you're holding. I came home last night to stories that Jamie was wearing his hat and Quinn climbed up to sit on his head.
She's a pig. This cat eats EVERYTHING. She has dragged pizza off the counter, eaten the middles out of pumpkin tarts on the table, tried to chew her way through a chip bag, and last night she was poaching fish from the pan while we were having dinner unawares. She's sat on Carly's shoulder and stolen a bite of her custard bun as Carly was eating it. She eats yam, peas, potato, salmon skin (fresh and dried), chicken, turkey, popcorn (stolen!) and probably anything else I'd hand her, along with all those great things that pets shouldn't eat, like plastic, soapy dishwater and the end of her own tail. I got a sample of a raw diet from a local pet food store. The other two cats went "OOOH! Nomnomnom nom... nom... wtf is this?" Quinn slurped up hers and proceeded on to the next bowl. She will eat her daily recommended food amount in one sitting, no breaks (the cats get fed twice a day, but the adults nibble through the course of the day).
She's stubborn. I tell her to get off the counter. She stares at me. I tell her to get off the counter. She swears at me and then jumps down. During the Tart Incident she was sprayed with water and had her ears flicked, but she kept going back for more.
She's SUPER cuddly. With everyone. That's one of the things I like best about her. She couldn't get in my lap as I had my laptop on it, so she cuddled with Jamie instead. If I roll around too much at night, she'll go sleep with Carly, much to Carly's dismay. Quinn is like a hot water bottle, and she prefers to sleep under the covers.
I knew that she was going to be a handful, but I really had no idea what I was in for. Now I can't imagine not having that handful to contend with!
