Life, it keeps on going!

Hi internets!

It's been awhile. I hope that you are well. I keep thinking that as I read stuff, but I thought I should say it too.

I've been very very busy, and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight.

As of last week, I have started school. I have a lot of homework. I'm learning to use a stenograph. It's been very interesting to watch myself learn this stuff, to see what connections my brain easily makes (press these two keys together to make this sound. 'EU' on paper means 'i') and which connections my brain doesn't (associating the short 'i' sound with 'EU'). I've discovered my academic sensabilities have changed drastically since I've been out of school for so long (memorize stuff? Pfft! Not practical. I'll recognize it when I see it).

As of this week, I have started taiko again. I missed my first class due to an awesome plague.

A couple of weekends ago Jamie and I went white water rafting. It was FUN. Road trip plus "camping" plus awesome weather and awesome water was exactly the summer vacation I'd been craving. We did a class 5 rapid and had lots of opportunities to see the rafting guides do their work. Really neat stuff.

The weekend before that was Fan Expo. We went as vampire-bit Merlotte's waitresses from True Blood. Jamie went as tin-foil Eric. We were a hit (though not as much as the WoW group the previous year). Next year: Empowered. One of my highlights: seeing a chrome toaster wrapped in a diaper with attached doll arms and legs, and a nametag that said "Hello my name is Hera".

Quinn is approaching cat-size. She has stopped the fetch portion of fetch. Her new favorites are "take your toy to the bathtub so it can't get away from you when you smack it around" and "bite someone's tail until you get bitch-slapped". Her longest running activities are "catch the wrinkles when the bed is being made" and "climb the humans at the most inconvenient moments". She has also now discovered moving pictures on tv.

I got a spinning wheel. I think I may have mentioned before. Well, Louet has a promo on that you get $200 of fiber when you buy a wheel. That box arrived on Monday. I now have enough fiber to last me years.

Also my sister is now married! :O
