Mom suddenly informed me, as we were talking about all my medical conditions, about the experimental, now illegal, synthetic hormone she took to keep from mis-carrying me like the three babies before me.

I have done lots of research on DES since that little talk.

One of my sisters is a DES baby and has to be monitored very carefully even though she is older than you. I was well over 10% of my mom's weight at my birth, which left a less-than-optimum situation for the next baby, Deb, who was born at the 'barely survival' point in the early 60s. Laura, who followed, received DES in the womb as they hoped to help my mom carry her to term. Cancer is a constant worry.

Not that you need anything else to worry about.......

As I recall. we talked about the possibility of her having taken DES back in the 80's when there was a big news story on it; I'm gonna guess you never asked her.
