This project aims to help set up a Design and Production Workshop for active members of Naintrec Youth Group. The group members are students (age 18 to 22) who are attending NYS (National Youth Services) Naivasha. They started an entrepreneurship youth group where they are focusing on entrepreneurialism, leadership and business development. Students will attain skills and knowledge they will use for the rest of their lives: Designing, producing, marketing and selling products that will use the sewing skills they are learning at NYS Naivasha while incorporating additional craft skills. They will also learn about writing business plans, keeping a cash book, costing, stock and sales plans and profit and loss. They in effect will be starting and running their own business where they will receive benefits both personally and from the group. One of the goals of the group is to build a sustainable income to keep the group going for new students each year and to acquire leadership skills in business development and to generate income for them to be able to start their own businesses once they have completed their studies at NYS Naivasha.
