The Apocalypse has come... should I beep Buffy?

Hello friends! The city that never sleeps is now under curfew and pretty much shut down, and today was day 1 of my working from home.

There were only two of us in the office Friday and it was fabulous, to be honest. Never been so productive and I had my pick of empty offices to take the many, many meeting calls on my calendar these days. On normally busy streets in midtown, there were a few tourists and natives but it felt a lot more like a big holiday (e.g. Christmas) when everything is closed and people have nowhere to go or nothing to do.

Spent the weekend grocery shopping and marvelled at the empty shelves where toilet paper, sanitizers, pasta, and hand soap would normally be. Fortunately, by Sunday the mass panic buying that started middle of last week had died down and it was a lot easier to buy things. Also stocked up on sweet treats and snacks by supporting the local eateries.

I know it's been a long time since I've posted and normally I think I'd have some more interesting updates but life has pretty much come to a halt for the immediate future and all normal plans have gone out the window. At least I didn't have any trips planned so no worries there.

How are people keeping themselves occupied these days? I've been reading like a fiend, and totally into a lot of mystery series ranging from Regency and Victorian settings to modern day sleuthing at Scotland Yard. Am currently on my 15th book of the year, which is in the Inspector Banks series... I started by watching the first few series of the TV adaptation, DCI Banks, and decided the characters and arcs were interesting enough to make me go find all the books. Am just over halfway through all the TV episodes, and currently on the third book.

And speaking of mysteries, has anyone else seen the trailer for the new Phryne Fisher movie? I'm looking forward to watching that (hopefully soon), and I might go and rewatch the entire series if staying indoors continues into late spring/early summer.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe wherever you are!
