So the last two weeks of hell (at home and at work) are finally over (fingers crossed and all) and I think I can begin to enjoy some much needed time off. I have a (not quite traditional but something just recently discovered) Christmas album (
this one) running in the background and earlier I had my pot of tea and strawberry shortcake in a jar and now I'm good.
From the latest batch of 3-sentence fills:
Prompt from
tiabolt: Narnia/Harry Potter, Lucy/Luna friendship, Lucy is head of the Narnian Intelligence Agency.
"If I were my brothers, I'd say you're too young to sign up for this kind of work," Lucy said to the young woman-girl, mostly, though in truth she was likely to be near her own age and they even shared many similar traits, from their golden hair to the wide-eyed innocence their faces seemed to project though their actions would speak otherwise-sitting before her.
With a respectful nod, the woman gestured to the scrolls of parchment (she arrived knowing full well her background and activities would have been researched by the country's intelligence gatherers) that lay on the desk between them and said, "If I may be blunt, your Majesty, one must sometimes look beyond the outer layers to see the truth, strength and courage beneath."
That was something the Queen understood very well and in this instance, it aided her in making her decision; Lucy held her hand out (and oh, it was so nice to do so with one who knew what a handshake was!) and with a warm smile said, "We are very glad to accept your service to Narnia, Miss Lovegood."

Prompt from
lizzie_marie_23: Doctor Who, Amy/Rory, fire and ice
With a shiver, Rory looked around this planet (he forgot what the name of it was and only remembered the Doctor waving his hands wildly about saying something about "Horseshoe Nebula" and "the great Ood Sphere"-maybe that was the name?) and saw nothing but white everywhere-from the ground and the mountains to the frost-covered spiral buildings in the distance that looked like tall, slender icicles.
"Wait up, Rory!" Amy called out from somewhere behind him.
He turned to see his wife approaching, her coppery hair flapping wildly in the wind and as it caught a beam of sunlight, glowed as if it were a bright, living flame.

pageleaf: Any, any, lipstick
Version 1: Doctor Who, Amy Pond and River Song
"I'm curious, River," Amy began as she and the other woman hid behind the bushes waiting for the signal from Rory on the other side of the encampment, "how do you manage to break out of Stormcage so often to go adventuring with the Doctor?"
"With this," River replied as she removed a slender, silver tube from her trouser pocket and pressed it into Amy's hand. At her mother's questioning glance, she clarified, "Hallucinogenic lipstick: one of the simplest, most deceptive weapons known in five galaxies."
Version 2: Narnia, Susan and Edmund
"Sister," Edmund's quiet voice drifted into the bedroom from where he stood in the doorway, watching her silently and speaking up when she caught his eye in the reflection of her vanity mirror, "you've always looked beautiful even without those powders, lotions and lipsticks."
When Susan looked up to disagree with him and saw the honesty in her brother's eyes and face, she replied not with a reproach but with setting down the tube of bright red gloss instead. Rewarding him a rarely seen, genuine smile, she softly added, "Thank you, Ed."
