Grrrrr.... carbys piss me off!
Ok, I'm gonna do some venting. If you are a carby, this isn't necessarily about you. I'd still recommend you stop reading here. I'm just pissed because I read some stuff at a message board that will remain nameless, and now I feel the need to run my mouth (or fingers, in this case.)
Seriously, why do so many carbys want Luka to die? It really pisses me off. I was reading messages at a board I'd never been to before, and they were all going on and on about how Luka should die in season 13 so Carter can come marry Abby and take care of the baby!!! Some of the responses were like "Oh that would be so great!" "Instant family!" "That's what the writers SHOULD do." UHGGGGGG!!!
Basically they know that Goran Visnjic is only signed up for season 13. Most of them have already assumed that he will not return for season 14 (even though he's yet to make this announcement), and therefore see his death as the only natural way for Carter to come along and sweep Abby off her feet, and of course, raise LUKA's child! First of all, while it does look like Goran is only going to do one more season, nothing is written in stone. He could do season 14... or he could do like their beloved Carter and come back for a few episodes only. I've read that he has not ruled out coming back for season 14 (although he speaks as though 13 will be his last), and even if he does leave, he does NOT have to die. Most people see a luby split inevitable since he may leave and Maura seems to want to stay, but that won't necessarily be the case. There are ways they can work it out. Also, it's very possible that we will have another Doug/Carol reunion.. only with Luka and Abby.
Personally I think it's obvious that Luka and Abby are in love and have no intentions of calling it off. I mean, they are having a baby together! They have the most amazing chemistry, and they work so much better than Carter and Abby. That whole relationship was so juvenile, it made me ill. Seriously, it was like something out of junior high. I hated it. Luka and Abby are so much better.. they are meant to be together. I believe TPTB have seen the light and will, somehow, keep them together. I predict a happy ending for my luby. (I know, happy endings don't happen often on ER... but this one is what should be.
Luka must live. Luka and Abby belong together. Carbys, get over it. Rant over.
New ER tonight.. expect screencaps and icons this weekend. Hoping for some luby since it's an Africa episode. There are supposed to be Chicago scenes too so there should be something.
