It was a wonderful weekend. Friday night Kel and I went out to enjoy the gorgeous evening. We went to Toys-R-Us and bought some things for bubble-blowing and a backgammon set then had a wonderful dinner at Ruby Tuesday's. The weather was beautiful and we spent some time outside blowing bubbles, Kel teaching me how to blow bubbles with my hands.
Saturday we slept late and then went out for a bit more shopping. We actually went to the mall *gasp* and found some wonderful scented lotions and the like, as well as a couple pieces of clothing for Kel. We also went to the university library to browse around. It's changed sooo much since I was last there a few years ago. We found several wonderful books in the stacks, but unfortunately neither of us can get a library card there so we can't check anything out. *pout* We spent the evening just relaxing at home...
Yesterday I slept late, spent a couple hours filing my taxes, and then went over to my friend Joe's place for an absolutely wonderful time. We had some delicious wine and a fabulous dinner of chicken and pork steaks cooked to perfection on the grill with sides of baked beans and potato-salad. We blew bubbles, listened to old 60s hippy music, danced joyously around the yard, and then layed down in the sunlit grass. We wandered through the woods a bit, fished in Joe's pond for a little while, and then settled in around a campfire for some very relaxing conversation. We could have spent the entire night there just relaxing around the fire, but as the night wore on and we started to happily drift towards sleep we had to tear ourselves away.
Kel got a bit too much sun and was burned on her shoulders and neck, but other than that it was great and we were both incredibly relaxed with spirits filled with joy. There is nothing quite like a gorgeous spring day spent in nature, surrounded with good friends, a belly full of delicious food, the warm sun on our skin and a cool breeze blowing through our hair, ending with the warm glow and quiet crackling of a fire in the moonlight...
spring,
friends,
weekend
