I saw it (The Cursed Child) this weekend and it was AMAZING. It was everything I ever wanted out of canon, and I can tell you that no one dies. :)

I have very little interest in picking up the book, myself. I have no idea of the spoilers revealed previously from the play were true or not, but regardless I don't consider it canon since the epilogue isn't canon for me.

Yeah, I'm honestly disappointed that after the whole Lexicon lawsuit debacle killed any further plans of her releasing that official encyclopedia, since I remember looking forward to that when she initially pitched the idea. Pottermore was only exciting when it first launched, but now it's just been incredibly meh, imho. Between that and her Twitter, her trying to expand the world or adding on has left much to be desired to me personally, sad to say.

I'm probably going to pick up the book at some point, but I'm torn over what I've heard about it. There are some great things, but the plot sounds like a terrible fanfiction. I won't consider it canon, just an interpretation of what could have occurred.

Hopefully Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is good!

Fanvids are dead? I have been watching them for a while. Like you said they are great ways to find new songs so on youtube at work I often pick a character from Marvel and type fanvid and just see what what came up.

I did notice a lot of the legacy ones got pulled, which is a shame. Which reminds me, at SOME POINT, I need to watch the ones from Escapade Con (and need to go back to it some day).

Soundtracks I kinda get in that it is fun to see what music other people think relate to me favorite character, but in the end, it is more or less song rec.

Though when I had the time to write fic, I found them useful.
