World Baseball Classic

So, the MLB's dream of a World Cup of baseball has finally come true and they have secured a way to show something interesting to the 1 billion people in China, such as their team get destroyed in the first game 18-2. But the best part about the WBC for me is that the rosters are so incredibly dumb and stupid that if you took a vacation to a certain country, you seem to be eligible to play for them. Here's some weird crap that's going on with these rosters:

2 Players for the Netherlands team are from cities in the USA named Holland
Bruce Chen plays for the Panama team
Italian Roster not having anyone with a listed birthplace from Italy; but rather mostly USA, Canada, and a Dominican and a Venezuelan
Matias Carrillo, a 43 yr old outfielder for Mexico, is the oldest player in the WBC
An Alabaman, Alexis Rios, playing for Puerto Rico
7 (of 30 possible) players on Korea with the last name Kim
5 (of 30 possible) players on Korea with the last name Lee
0 (of 30 possible) players on Cuba with the last name Castro
2 Paquin Estrada's (Manager of Mexico) MLB career at bats, leaving him with a lifetime average of .500
8 Florida Marlins on WBC rosters, before the end of the 2005 season, only 2 were in the Marlins organization before the fire sale of 2005 bringing an influx of minor leaguers
17 NY Mets, a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 5 straight seasons, on WBC rosters
7 Managers of the 16 teams with any substantial MLB experience
