I walked into the Ink Noir for a delightful caffeine fix. (I'd been drinking crappy free coffee all day, I wanted to splurge on one cup of something worth drinking.)
Lo and behold, the place had become a Monkey House! Will, Jon, Ari, Bill, and poor Ron, who looked like he'd just been stuck in the wrong cage at the zoo. Ron's much more sedate, like a ring-tailed lemur, lighting on a shoulder for a while and then leaping the minute someone tries to touch him. It's not the right animal for Ron, but it's the first thing that came to mind.
Anyway, Will suddenly busted out into song, which was marvelous, (I suspect it was from the musical version of Young Frankenstein,) and then, after a verse or two, passed the latte to Bill. Bill sang part of a song from Nightmare before Christmas, passed the latte to me, and everyone got a verse of The Last Midnight, (Into the Woods.) Ari did Touch Me from Rocky, then Jon did something that I suspect was Repo. And Ron? Well, passing the latte to Ron may have been an act of cruelty, he's obviously /not/ a theater major, just an innocent bystander.
Eventually, there was some Wicked rehearsal between me and Jon, since we're to be singing. More today. I want Will in on some of it, he's still an amazing director. I took some time last week, and went perusing the film archives, since I remembered he's a sophomore and watched some of his stuff. It's nice to know my instincts were right. He's really, really good.
Seriously, the Monkeys are saving my sanity, y'all rock like a big rocking thing, rocking. Last night was so much fun.
Ari? You. Me. Hanging. Caffeine and sugar. What do you say?
