I've got some guys here trimming our palm trees. The palm trees are tall. About 20 foot tall. And the guys discovered that their large extendable ladder doesn't reach to the brush they want to trim. So they have joined a second extendable ladder to the first...with rope...and the poor bastard who drew the short straw is 20 foot up on this makeshift ladder WITH A CHAINSAW.

I'm sitting here pondering our liability if someone should say, lop off a hand, or fall to their death. I think we're okay. I think it's fairly forseeable that someone could meet their death in this foolish venture so I would argue that there has been a voluntary assumption of risk, your Honour.

I'm going to be chewing my nails until they're done.

ETA: Well it's done and nobody is dead. Or disfigured. Longest three hours of my life. I am quietly partaking of a snifter of wine to soothe my nerves
