So i says the to the guy....i says:
I went to see "No Country for Old Men" this weekend, once on Friday and again on Sunday. (Chris and Travis hadn't seen it and wanted to, and I was willing to go again seeing as I enjoyed it so much the first time)
I can't quite describe it, it's not a new style of story or anything, but the characters were great, the writing and cinematography amazing, and there was pretty much no music at all. There was a simplicity and originality that you don't often see and there's not much more I can say other than I loved it.
As you do when you go to a movie at the cinema, you see previews for upcoming attractions and there was one that caught my attention called "Juno". I found out this morning that we did all the post production for it, and was obviously filmed entirely up here in Vancouver. Ellen Page is in it, and once I saw her I immediately knew I'd check it out as she's awesome, and then Michael Cera, Jason Bateman and a few other actors I like are in it too. Pretty stoked for that one :)
It was also confirmed today that Technicolor is going to be closed for Xmas Eve Day and New Year's Eve Day! both Mondays so we get extra long weekends! YES!!11! I already changed my flight with harbour air, so i fly to Nanaimo on the 22nd returning on the 26th :) It will be great to have that extra time with the fam damly.
I promised myself I wouldn't spend too much on gifts this year, but that has already fallen by the wayside. OH WELLZ. And now i've got all these ideas but no time to execute the majority of them!
I did get my dad the new Stephen Colbert book: "I Am America (and so can you!)" and I've been reading it....SO funny. I don't think I've laughed out loud so much from any book in quite some time. I know he has a team of people that help him write, but they are all very talented and have put together one entertaining read! I highly recommend if you are a Stephen Colbert/daily Show fan, it's grrreeeaaat.
Tonight is going to include Dark Hot Chocolate and chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool with Geoff, Justin and Jay. I'm pretty excited about it, OH and apparently we are going to get some snow, about 2 centimetres they predict. Which means the entire GVRD will shut down and the apocolypse will occur on the #1 and the rest of the country will laugh at us lame West Coast Ass-bag Vancouverites for not being able to drive in the minimal snow that we receive. Can't wait for the evening news headlines!
If only i were able to go out and do some "mad doughneeez" :P (miss you aidron)
