Wednesday The Bight trip Day 6

May 11, 2011 11:46

11.06, 23 +C Blue skies and M driving. Lazy morning. A had a headache and was feeling nauseous. Trouble with Janie too. She did not start right away as she usually does. What’s going on? We also sat around and trained on the Australian pledge. It’s a very nice pledge.
12.48 fueled up and went to the Post Office in Hawker. Then on to Port Augusta.
17.36 Stopped at a shopping centre in Whyalla to buy a new extension cord for the refrigerator and do some food shopping and have an ice cream. Auntie had left 3 messages but we couldn’t listen to them properly since we were half or all out of range. A was still not feeling too good. Maybe it was the water from Wilpena Pound. M noticed that there was brown matter at the bottom of the bottles we filled there. Decided to not use it for drinking again.
In Whyalla we had looked up a nice motel by the sea. No vacancy, but the guy recommended another motel. Went there and it was closed down but there was one across the road and we got a room there. Motel Alexander Motor Inn/Best Western They had a restaurant also with very good food.
18.20 Beer O’clock and we are both pretty bushed. Had dinner at the hotel and could use M:s computer a little. Got in contact with son and brother. All is well.
Driving: On to the big road again, going south on the Oraparinna/Hawker - Wilpena rd. Down to Hawker and fuelled up, went to the Post office and aired up the tyres. South on the B83 again to Stuart Hwy and up to Port Augusta and south to Whyalla.
