Travelling through South Africa in July (mid-winter) and January (mid-summer) offers a unique perspective into the seasonal differences of the region.
« The "dry" (winter) season - July 2005
Winter is the "dry" season through most of eastern South Africa. There is VERY little rain, and alot of veld (pronounced "felt") fires throughout the areas - deliberately lit unfortunately.
» The "wet" (summer) season - Jan 2006 By contrast Summer is the "wet" season, and everything becomes very green. I could hardly believe I was travelling through the same landscape, except the mountains and hills were the same shape.
