bored!!!!
dave is out helping his friend frank, i felt like crap today so i am supposed to be doing school work. oh well. :) last night we went to wise fools pub and saw jen's "friend" play. he's a good guitar player and singer, but his stage presence sucks. he just kind of stares down the whole time. i got drunk though because i found out yesterday that chevron texaco wants to hire me! hells yeah! i am one of their first choices out of students from more than 35 other schools they were recruiting earth science people at. no one else from NU has even gotten an offer yet, except me. oh yes, i kick major interviewing ass! they start you out as an intern, which pays over 4700 a month (56,000/year) so its like a 3 month long interview and then if you are doing a decent job, you will most likely get hired full time with a huge pay increase. its a pretty sweet deal. although most of the crazy liberals out there will tell me if i do say yes i will be selling my soul to the devil. but at least i'd be getting paid more than them. ;)
i have to let them know by nov. 16, so i am still waiting on qtsi to get back to me. i would rather work for them- they do cool secret stuff with their nuclear monitoring and other seismic verification- actually, bigger than top secret stuff, so then i could really honestly say "well, i could tell you, but then I would have to kill you." :)
by the way, i wish everyone would just shut the hell up about all the "america is going to go to hell in the next four years" bullshit. i'm all about voicing your opinion, but everyone is getting so hostile about it. for example, i tried to get one of my office mates to look at the elections in a more positive way(i.e. all presidents need more than 4 years to see any changes work well, maybe bush will surprise us, etc., and that kind of stuff) as soon as i mention anything at all that isnt "yay woopie kerry rules!" she starts yelling at me and is about to cry and threw something across the room! wtf! I'm more of a moderate than anything, so i try to see both sides, but that kind of stuff makes me wonder. its not all about the psycho religious conservatives- there are also those known as crazy liberals. anyway, the take home message is that bitching gets you nowhere. lets all try to make the best out of a crappy situation, ok? lets all just calm down please for a minute, at least. thanks. later.
