Rory was really, really, really warm.

Anakin shook his head. "I'm fine," he said.

Temperature-wise, anyway. He was far from being actually fine.

"You don't want water or anything?" Rory asked worriedly, running her hand over his hair.

Rory went over to the fridge and fetched him a bottle of water. "What else can I do?" she asked, handing it to him and giving him a kiss.

Anakin took a sip and then slipped his arm around Rory's waist and pulled her closer. "Just be here," he said quietly.

He stared at the floor, lost in thought.

"Then John would have called someone else who could help," Rory promised. "Cal or someone."

"It was scary," he said finally.

"But she's okay," Rory whispered, hugging him tightly. "Aeryn's going to be just fine because you and John saved her."

Anakin's eyes were still haunted. "What did you do today?" he asked in an obvious attempt to change the subject.

"I didn't run back to the dorms naked," Rory told him.

"Cal was going to make us run back to the dorms naked if she shot us in her class," Rory said. "She shot me, but I ran away before she could make me strip."

"With paint," Rory sighed. "Not seriously."

She shifted slightly so he could see her upper arm. "I bruised, but it's not a big deal."
