"I was not," Rory said, trying to hide a smile. "You went to a brothel."

"With Aeryn," Anakin pointed out. "So we weren't going to a brothel, really."

"You could have caught something."

[emo_padawan]

"I didn't touch anything and I brought my own booze to drop on them."

"You could have caught airborne herpes," Rory flailed.

Anakin stared at her. "What?"

"It could happen," Rory said defensively. "You don't know!"

"Then you'd have it, too," Anakin said, voice growing heated.

What a stupid thing to argue about, Anakin.

"Well, no, not yet," Rory said, looking wounded.

"You were there too," Anakin stated flatly.

"You have no sense of humor," Rory said, rolling her eyes and moving away.

"I'm laughing on the inside," Anakin said, flipping onto his side and sulking.

Rory looked at him. "Are we seriously fighting about this?" she asked softly, sounding hurt. "The whole thing was a joke. Sorry."

Anakin sighed and rolled back to face her. "I'm sorry," he said. "I'm spun a little tight this week. And nothing's helping."

Rory looked at him, biting her lip. "Is it anything specific?" she asked quietly. "Or the thing we're pretending isn't happening in a week?"
