Aeryn's kind of been telling herself that Rory seemed fine at Thanksgiving, and she's probably doing okay with everything, despite anything Luke said. And then after Ethics class when Aeryn started overthinking, she decided she was being an idiot.

Which is why she makes her way over to Rory's room, knocking at the door.

Rory hides the photo under her pillow quickly and tries to look normal. "Come in."

Aeryn opens the door, greeting her with a "Hi." Because she just realized she has no idea how to do this, but opening with it is probably bad.

"Hi," says Rory with a little smile. "What's up?"

And now the door gets closed behind her, too. "I was just wondering how you were doing, after Ethics."

"It's nice that he's not there," she says quietly, and yes, she remembers that Aeryn knows. It's part of why she didn't specify him by name.

It's a little surprising that Aeryn doesn't agree with that. Maybe it's just because she hadn't gotten a chance to throw anything at him. "I'm sorry I didn't come sooner," she admits.

Rory shrugs. "I'm trying not to think about it. Or about Luke and his hand and what might be happening to him."

"How's that working for you?" she asks.

"Not well," she replies. "Bridge doesn't know. About any of this, actually. I...haven't wanted to tell anyone. I don't know. I kind of can't."

"It's a lot to process," Aeryn says, leaning against the wall. "John doesn't know, either." She doesn't add the And you had more invested than I did, because Rory probably doesn't need to be reminded of it. "You'll talk if and when you're ready."

"I just...I don't know how" she says, shaking her head. "I don't see what could have happened to do this. I threw a Zen garden at him."

"I heard about that," Aeryn says. She might be a little proud of her for that. "Looking back, I can see certain things, signs, maybe. But nothing that would bring him to this."

"The Drusilla thing," Rory says hollowly. "He was always dangerous, yeah. I just...I don't know. I pieced together what I think might be Vader's story, but how Anakin got there, I don't know. And what completely throws me is why he's still like that, if I'm right."

She frowns, and asks, "What do you think the story is?"

"Someone threatened or hurt someone he loved," she says simply, "and I would lay odds on it being a Jedi. It was probably Luke's mother, based off his reactions."
