I posted once a while ago on my Gitmo impressions, but I'm posting again now that Obama signed the executive orders.
I'm glad that he's closing it within a year and that he's bringing everyone back to the Army Field Manual. I think the United States lost any moral grounds it had to object to the treatment of US citizens and other human rights abuses when we started committing some of the same abuses. No actionable intelligence has been known to be generated from this abuse, and I think that anyone who supports these sort of actions should question their own moral compass. To be complicit or supportive of such abuse is, to me, unconscionable.
Regarding his other actions, not sure what to think of reversing the ping-ponging exectivive order about funding groups which support abortions overseas. And the other actions have been solid. The cabinet seems good, too.
