Life...is really rad sometimes...
Its a new year this week has been crazy, I think its in subconscious response to Jen's friend committing suicide- it really put things in perspective. Like, what am I waiting for? And what is all this money I have just sitting in the bank for? And if I like someone why should I play the game and act like I don't? Its also been a week of reunions, which is excellent.
New Years I went out w/ Margaret, Brit, Amy & Lisa to this fancy Italian place to eat DELICIOUs pasta & wine then back to hot tub, ddr, snacks & cake shows to toast in the new year. Amy & I then drove back to Genes to hang out w/ Team Retail in Queen Anne- between the pbr, silly guitar songs & drunk dails it was a great night.
The 1st I got up late, had mimosa's with Maurice & exchanged intense banter, then Emory came over & we made some quesadillas & took off to visit Mike, Misty & Phil up in Queen Anne, it was quite the trek, but we made it. It was so good to see those kids, we watched the Boise/ Oklahoma game- which pretty much ruled, listened to some records & chilled down in the studio with Mike on guitar & Misty singing, it was a pretty intense moment for some reason. We then ran down in the rain to this awsome old bar w/ this old gentleman on piano that would play while patrons sang showtunes or whatnot- it was super rad. Then we walked downt to Emory friend Jim's place at the SS. Marie Antoinette- this awsome art space to watch some of the Office. Pretty good for the 1st day of the year.
Tuesday was very uneventful...but I stayed up late & painted & got 3 new CDs from SonicBoom-Tilly & the Wall, Imogen Heap & Fiest- all on sale-hell yeah..Full Moons make me stay in
Yesterday I slept in, went & worked out, got a new license(finally), visited Piroskys(no Julie :(),met up w/ Amy & Margaret for some yummy sushi feasting...mmmmmm. Margaret is off to Pullman- how I will miss that girl- good people. Then I met up w/ Karen- oh sweet reunions!- picked up some Cafe Ladro & went up to the Hill to shop around. I got so much cloths, a whole new wordrobe really- seriously rockin. Katie & Becca met up w/ us & we had some tasty Pho, then back to my place for chocolate tortes, wrestling with wine bottles(thankyou Katy the cork destroyer), and watercolor paintings. Karen stayed the night, which was rad, I'd missed that free spirited gal! and now..here i am...at the bodies...being bored, not 1 sale yet today. ugh. Waiting for Karen to stop by & deciding where to go for 1st Thursday.
Also, OMG, planning out going to SXSW w/ Amy in March. Austin, here we come! Its a little intimidatingly expensive with the pass, plane ticket & hotels, but wow, it sounds like an experience I can't really pass up. A week of intense wonderful music/partying/connections. wooooot.
