This conversation happened the other day, but it amused me and I thought I'd share.
Just for background. My mother is definitively NOT a sci-fi fan. She's picked up some via osmosis from tolerant watching while my dad and I enjoyed Star Trek incarnations and Star Wars, etc. But generally no. To her, Stargate is "that show with the sideways water" that has MacGyver on it.
So she mentioned to me how the other day she turned on her tv getting ready for bed and ended up coming across "Stargate".
Mom: I couldn't believe that show was on! (Um, I've kinda been boring her with AoT trivia ad nauseum, pre and post release) I thought at first it was just a show with that one guy from it.
Me: Which guy from it?
Mom: The one you like.
Me: Daniel?
Mom: Yeah. The glasses fellow.
Me: Daniel.
Mom: Well, I thought at first it was the actor in some other show. But then I realized it was "your Stargate show" when I saw that girl who was on it with him. You know, the blonde.
Me: Sam. Cool! I wonder what ep it was. What was happening?
Mom: Well, they were in some place with people in old-fashioned clothes, and then everyone started shooting at each other.
Me: That...doesn't really narrow it down.
