{Dresden} The Party

That cast of characters is done for Dresden. So, who do we have?

* Christine Michaels. She's the president of the Paranet PTA. Possessed of the Sight, and an uncanny gift for seeing trouble coming, she earns her keep as a babysitter to the local psychic/minor talent/sorceror community. Psychics don't always make the right choices, though, and that's why she has an ex-husband and barely scrapes by on the money she gets from babysitting. It's rewarding work though, and she likes being near her (huge, somewhat invasive, occasionally prescient) family on the West Bank, so she stays where she is. The only wrinkle is an old employer, Mr. G, who wants her Sight and simply wont take "Hell no!" for an answer.

* Mary-Elizabeth "Liz" O'Malley. Her childhood really began when she ran away from home. On the night she left to live with her dad, her mom was killed in a car crash; she only heard about it years later. By then, her dad had brought her deeply into his life as a traveling circus performer. She started as a carnie and later became a performer, and was then was marooned at the Superdome during Hurricane Katrina. Her dad died that night, and then he tried to kill her. She ran for her life rather than kill him again. Since then she has been using her gift for veils to bring down the necromancer who brought him back - a mysterious man named Mr. G.

* Arthur Conroy. He's a rescue diver for the New Orleans Port Authority. That's just one half of who he really is, though. The other half is an aquamancer, who wields the power of water to protect those who can't protect themselves. He has lived in New Orleans for his whole life, stayed through Katrina, and is still working to put the city back on track. One of the few good men left, he works to keep the horrors that washed up with Katrina from coming back again.

* Terrell "TJ" Jackson. TJ is the third string Running-back for the New Orleans Saints. He grew up on the streets, went to college on an athletic scholarship, and was picked up by the Saints after a particularly good college season at LSU. After college, he stopped being a big fish in a big pond, and became a small fish in the ocean. His performance with the Saints has been lackluster, until last season. Once the voodoo curse on the Superdome was broken his family's birthright came alive, and he became the (unwilling) Emissary of Baron Samedi. The strength and speed of the loa super-charged his performance and helped take the Saints to the Super Bowl. His past still haunts him, though. He still owes debts to his old bookie and loan shark, and he has come a-calling. That man's name is Mr. G, and it turns out that loans aren't all he offers...

* Ryan Jacobs. Now a bounty hunter to the supernatural community, Ryan was once a soldier. They don't let you sling the real fire around, though; soldiers aren't supposed to also be pyromancers. They discharged him, and he began his life in the private sector. He hunts bail-jumpers and bad men now, and very occasionally takes contracts from the White Council. Its these contracts that try him, but he's a man of his word and so he sees them through to the end.

* Lyrra Chatalaine. Youngest daughter of the Chatalaines, cousin to the Raith faily, Lyrra grew up in posh splendor never wanting for anything. For all that she was spoiled, though, she always had urges that scared her. Her mother told her that people were defined by their choices, though, and so she fought the demon in her and tried to keep on the straight and narrow. When auntie Madrigal came to town, her fortitude was tested to its limit. After she witnessed a family feeding frenzy, she left her family behind. Now she's making money the only way she knows how: stripping, teasing money out of horny idiots in a classy bar on Bourbon. That's where she met Ryan, right before the Red Court showed up and Ryan laid the place to waste.

* Marc [undecided]. This kid is nothing special. Mostly, he's just too nosy for his own good. That's why he stole his dad's papers, that's why he used them (even though he left Page 4 at home - oops!), that's how learned how to turn himself into a snake, and that's why he's in college studying snakes now. He still goes out and gets himself in trouble, usually manages to pull himself out again, and in the process has quite the thrilling life.
