Hello Spring?

Current occupation: Procrastinating.

Just as our spirits were picking up and we were talking about what herbs etc. to plant this year (and what day we should play soccer on), this happens:

What the hell happened to our spring? Adam says April snow is normal (I can't really remember the previous years I've been here) but that it usually blows in and is gone by the next morning. Well this is the morning after and not only is it still there, but it's STILL SNOWING!! (okay, not a lot, but still.) And it's chilly: I've got the gas fireplace going.

On other, more exciting news, my sister's due date is in 6 weeks - for many reasons but especially that I wish I could go home for a visit! Alas it's not to be.

Why am I seeing previews for Crank at the cinema? Didn't that movie come out last year? I mean, I'm sure it did, I remember reading reviews and seeing posters for it. Bizarre.

I got patronised at the bank on Sunday (yes I was surprised to see it was open then too) - I went in to arrange something with my finances and the cocky young shit with small-man syndrome actually had the gall to call me a "paranoid woman" (I quote), and forced me to justify my decision by telling him way more about our lives and financial situation than I ever intended or wanted to. And all through it I was friendly and nice.

I'll be the first to admit there are times when I can be difficult, rude and even bitchy - I wish this had been one of them! I've so rarely been blatantly patronised (as a woman) that I have a delayed reaction to it and it takes me a while to even realise. I came away from that interview feeling stupid, unworthy and frankly dirty. Reminds me of the one time I was groped by a stranger in broad daylight on a main street in Hobart. Your skin crawls but you feel like it was all your fault.
