This must be Buddy's favorite part of the L.A. River. It's the
Sepulveda Basin Off-Leash Dog Park . In this picture he is gazing longingly into the small dog area, where only dogs under 20 pounds are allowed, and they don't make exceptions for guys like him who love the little ones. Later he found some dogs his own size to play with, but I wasn't able to get any good pictures of him with them.
In the background, what looks like a rock wall, is a bank of the river. It's back to
This is the largest off leash dog park in the city of Los Angeles-5 acres. I so much wish there were more of them. Buddy has been to a smaller, closer one, and enjoyed it, but this one is better. I walked while he ran, and I feel I got a bit of exercise too. In fact, I am quite tired. This was his third visit to a dog park. I was still very watchful for any trouble he might get into, but he did just fine. He does a bit of playful growling, but he clearly does not want to fight, and actually seems very tactful.
We are getting close to the official beginning of the river, at the confluence of Bell Creek and Arroyo Calabasas. I think we have covered all the area where we will be able to walk beside it, so I will resort to photographing it from bridges. And then? I think I will spend a few years exploring the tributaries.
