I love this song. Everyone should download it.
I now have a myspace page. I caved! LJ is still number 1 in my heart though. Tom can suck it.
Kalem and I went out to eat at Macaroni Grill tonight and it was pretty awesome. There was this old man who played accordion (and he was wearing a hat! so cute) at the tables. When he walked by I couldn't help but look and smile at him. He immediately stopped and started a song at our table. What song? That's Amore. "When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie..." He obviously took us for a couple which was amusing because we were just then talking about Vanessa. It would have been a perfect movie moment. The old man was so cute! It was adorable. He then proceeded to play basically the same four songs over and over as he walked around. Then later Kalem and I were arguing about whether girls were (? help me here Kalem) or bitches. As one of the waiters walked by I said "Bitches" very clearly while writing it on the table and he laughed. Glad I amused him.
Yesterday I accomplished something I'd be wanting to do since freshman year: I ate at Rolando's Super Tacos. The brightly painted building on Hildebrand just past Blanco with "Jesus is Lord" emblazoned on the side. I like my taco's with a side of jesus, damnit! Rolando was behind the counter taking orders, people were friendly in there (talking to strangers - a real local place), and he gave me a free pen since it was my first time there. I then took my car to the Chevron on McCullough to get my inspection and all the men there were so friendly (they take care of Trinity students). It made me really happy to be in San Antonio. I love my city.
I've been trying to figure out what I want to do when I graduate. Grad school here? Elsewhere? Real job? Austin, DFW, somewhere else? I want to live somewhere different for awhile. I want to go to the northeast where I can experience winter. Snow. I've been looking up different programs through Americorps and Teach for America. NYC has the highest number of TOA teachers. In Baltimore I would be RICH. The average salary there is $16,000 and beginning teachers get $38,000. All of the northeast pays better than Texas. Baltimore also has a really good program w/John Hopkins to get your masters. The two year program casts $14,000 total. Really nice to Trinity's full time fifth year $23,000. The program helps you get your certification and most cities have programs with local colleges to get your masters. In Newark the average salary is $13,000 and teachers start at $44,500. I'd have to live in Newark though. :p Don't think I could be a Jersey girl. The program also gives you $5,000 a year towards college loans. And you can put off paying those loans for the two years (which is stupid to me).
