Rant, pt 2

*totally flabbergasted*

Okay, this gets better.  So I called the school and asked about the "graduation ceremony" tonight.  And the secretary, exasperated, said, "You are the seventh person to call and ask about this!  It's not a ceremony, we're taking graduation PHOTOS of the kindergarten and fifth grade classes."

I nodded thoughtfully (even though she couldn't see me) and said, "That's great, but the sign I saw on the cafeteria door said quite clearly 'graduation ceremony' so, you are probably going to be getting a lot more calls about this."

"Oh, no," she assured me breezily.  "It says photos.  Graduation PHOTOS."

I said rather testily, "No, it says ceremony.  You might send someone to check.  After all, parents aren't calling to ask about photos, are they?"

She sent someone to check.  That someone said, "it says 'ceremony' in great big letters."  She apologized.

In her favor, she wasn't the one who wrote up the posters.  I know this, because it's not her handwriting, which I've always admired, because it's so clear, and I even asked her once if she was ever in graphic design, because it looks so familiar.  No, it was a parent volunteer, who obviously got the message wrong.  Still, those posters should have been checked over before they were mounted.    *snorts with laughter*  Oh, I imagine over the next couple of hours, their phone lines are going to be tied up with calls from frantic parents, wanting to know just where the hell the "graduation ceremony" is supposed to be, and why wasn't a note sent home?

Still, it would have been nice to know about the photographs ahead of time.  I would have asked Miss Priss to NOT wear my old high school gym shirt, which says, "Stephen F. Austin Girls Athletics," and hangs down to her thighs.  It's vented, and it's supposed to get up to near 90 today.  *sigh*  At least I managed to get her to wash her hair last night.

Am I bad for giggling with glee at the thought of the office staff scrambling to handle the influx of calls about "graduation?"

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
