Catch-Up
Long overdue...
April 6th: Took a vacation to Mendocino (Northern CA coast). Gorgeous, but dull. Everything was closed. We later realized it was because it was Easter weekend. SHAME ON ME!
April 7th: On a beautiful bluff overlooking the ocean, Steve proposed. I happily accepted. :)
Early November: Steve was hired by Blizzard. YAY! By mid-November, we had quit our sf jobs. I was THRILLED to leave mine, as it had become one of the most intolerable places ever in my life.
Early November-Late November: Freaked out about moving and money, apartment hunted, bought a car, threw/gave away a huge amount of our belongings (pack rats no more), and got close to pulling my hair out. I don't deal well with stress.
Thanksgiving: Had our friend Anna K. over. She was charming company and maker of divine garlic mashed potatoes.
November 28th: Moved from San Francisco to Irvine, CA. Things we have now that we didn't before: a den, a washer/dryer, and a chick-fil-a down the street. So exciting!
December 14th: Got married at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The date was originally set for May 4, but we decided to move it up. We were aiming for something very intimate, simple, and elegant. I think it worked out. :)
Christmas: Midnight mass, a few presents, and pie. This was a big deal for me; I'd never made pie before! It was apple and delicious.
New Years: Low-key traditional. Scrabble, champagne, and the ball drop. We're old people who hate crowds.
Tonight, January 10th: Pizza, wine, and the first dvd of Black Books. Not a bad way to spend the evening.
As for everything else I'm up to, I'll let you know when I sort it out myself!
We need to either get a scanner or pay the Bellagio a king's ransom for the hi-res, non-watermarked photo disk. But for now, and to close, here's Steve and me on our special day:
