Oh believe me, I know. We bought a house built in 1963, that was inhabited by the original owners until we bought it. Most of the rooms in the place have no ceiling lights, let alone fans (which are valuable money savers in AZ summers), no grounded outlets, insane grandma flower wallpaper, I'm sure you know the drill. The master bedroom even has an original phone company-issued rotary phone hard wired into the wall. No phone jack. I imagine there are much older houses back east with issues far beyond cosmetic and convenience concerns. We're having so much fun planning how we're going to make the place our own though.
Any chance of a wedding invite for a long lost cross country buddy? ;-) It would be a fantastic excuse to finally make it back to the east coast. And we have a guest room now, so if you ever feel the need to get away from frigid winters, there's a room reserved for you and your chosen mawwiage partner. I look forward to meeting her one of these days. I got this warm glowy feeling yesterday when I read your post because it's just so satisfying to hear that the truly awesome people who are or have been part of your life are happy and since you are a truly awesome person I'm sure you know the feeling.
