Sewing ideas?
Hey, creative sewing types, I need some quick ideas. I'm making up a few pairs of shorts for my two-year old. He's outgrown the 12-month size but the 18-month pants still fall off his skinny little waist, and 2T's are humongous.
Anyway, it's a simple pattern for elastic waist shorts with no special details. Here's the fabric:
And here's the pattern made up as long pants with front cargo pockets for a costume (sorry I don't have a photo without the straps):
What I'd like ideas for are cute or interesting details so that all four pairs aren't exactly the same. Pockets (front, side or butt) and parallel rows of contrast topstitching around one leg are all I've come up with. What else have you seen out there in little boys' clothes that I could steal? Keep it simple, though; I need to whip these up quick!
