Bye Bye 2005

Dec 31, 2005 18:25

Well the last day of 2005, what a year! I made it through in tact, well still have tonight to contend with, but yeah so far so good.
This was the year that saw me resign from a job that left me in utter despair, but there was light at the end of the tunnel. It was such a huge weight lifted off my shoulders to finally bite the bullet, and go through with it. No regrets there.

Went on my first ever flight, and visited the home land of my dearest Darryn, New Zealand. The 22 day trip was amazing, and can't wait to get myself there again in the near future. Although it had its ups and downs it was great. Some places I really want to get back to are Kaikoura, Wanaka and Hamner Springs. I have some fond memories to look back on, and yes, am still yet to get my pics developed! But when I do, I shall be keen to share my trip with you all. Some highlights were going bungy jumping for the first time in Queenstown. Seeing the seal colonies close up in Kaikoura, and I mean real bloody close! Seeing a real life Kiwi bird, my gosh are those lil birds the most adorable critters, such a shame that they are endangered. Viewing all the beautiful natural landscapes, and natural wonders they have there, eg, the pancake rocks. and so on.

Started a new job this year, in which I am feeling really happy and secure, as it stands now I am officially off my three month trial period, pretty fucking awesome I must say.

Some great concerts were on this year, of which I am so grateful and fortunate to have been able to experience. So very happy to see NIN, Velvet Revolver, Garbage, Motley Crue and well Motorhead very briefly, and if memory serves me correctly I think REM was at the beginning of this year?

Darryn and I survived another year together, I swear that man has the patience of a saint, cause as to why anyone could put up with me for so long is a complete mystery? hehe I guess I have some endearing qualities.

And a huge one for me is the beginnings of a new me, although it is only early days yet, I have now lost 4 kgs, on the brink of 5. For so much of my life I have been on the slightly over weight side of things, the butt of school yard taunts etc But I am stepping up to the plate, and I am gonna try my hardest to achieve my goal. I know for this the support of friends will be much appreciated.

I am really looking foward to 2006, I don't have resolutions as such, but I do have a few plans in mind that I hope to continue and get under way as the year unfolds.

Looking forward to heading out tonight for NYE, a lil drinking and chemical cheer is in order. Pity about the heat, but I guess I can't have it all my way. Oh well, all the dancing and sweating will help melt some more kgs off hopefully.

Hope you all have a Happy and Safe New Years Eve, and perhaps I might just get the chance to say it to you personally this evening. xXx - Bec
