WHY NOT? Keeping track of things in one place is fun!
employment; pastry shop manager. the shop itself is similar to the
Patisserie Valerie chain, in its range of products and efficiency of sales. however it is more widespread and less correct to original French patisserie, thus you could say it is closer to
Starbucks in its professionalism. at the moment, it is doing well- the shop itself was bought out by the chain less than a year ago and immediately adopted Francis, a full-time worker, as the branch manager.
economic; doing well for himself. he's still getting weekly backdated rent from his old apartment, but is currently paying off the house in Woodglen Ridge with money from work- inheritance from his father remains but he prefers not to source that for himself. he continues to send €40-100 monthly to his sister's bank account in Paris.
relationship; at the moment, taken, officially. his girlfriend is named April; 25 years old, training to be a teacher. she lives in the city and they go out every week after work, and if Francis has a spare moment, he drops by her work to send flowers or lunch. they have been together for nearly four months, being the responsible adults that they are.
...however. for nearly the same period of time, Francis has been frequented by a part-time coworker at the shop who, for the scant few hours a day they spend together, is completely enamoured by him. unfortunately the Frenchman is indifferent-bordering-on-content to oblige this youthful romance in more ways than one without any real emotional attachment. in a matter of weeks this teenage admirer will be heading off to the next city to study at university, thus leaving the shop, and Francis, for good, and it breaks their heart. Francis glees at the prospect of taking those hours for himself.
family; his mother is still MIA (whatever, she fools around and isn't always at home, and rarely keeps up to date with Francis' whereabouts). his extended family, scattered here and there throughout France and its tropical territories, often ask him for letters about the English world out of the blue, just like that. Marianne, his younger sister, is nearing the peak of her studies and continues to be pretty, playful and intelligent. the latest development is that she has a 'petit ami' called Martin. hopefully her high-class girly entourage can protect her from any bad advances.
neighbourhood; that house on Stockholm Circle pleases him immensely. so much so that he'll spend his weekends relaxing indoors or in his back garden rather than go out; and listen to his music, and bake good treats, and answer the phone whilst naked. he isn't particularly bothered with going to meet his neighbours, but he isn't against chatting with them should the chance arise. he doesn't wish to mix his home life with his work life.
